Expert Council

Nobody in this industry is an expert in all thing ICT. One must surround themselves with peers with specialties that in areas that that one lacks. I have done just that. This will help provide a broader range to answer technical questions in more depth to help you, my audience, will benefit. Here is the expert council (in no particular order).


Matthew W. Apfel RCDD, TECH, CT has been a part of the Information Communications and Technology industry for over two decades. His experiences in this amazing industry include roles in Project/ Construction Management, Design, Installation, Construction and Craft Training. He is currently affiliated with  IBEW L.U 357 as a Senior Technician and employed by the Electrical JATC of Southern Nevada as an Assistant Training Director. Matthew is passionate about advancing the interests of the ICT Industry through Training and Education. He primarily exercises this passion through his association as an authorized Instructor for BICSI, FOA, OSHA and the IBEW/ NECA Electrical Training Alliance.


Tyler is an influencer for Intelligent Buildings and Power Over Ethernet. He currently leads PoE Texas making technology accessible to facility owners with his unique mix of technical expertise, construction experience, and project management knowledge. Having been a Project Manager and VP of Construction for more than fifteen years with ExxonMobil and iFLY, Tyler speaks and trains live and on YouTube about his project management experience and the importance of Power Over Ethernet in the new Intelligent Building.


Phil Klingensmith RCDD, OSP, RTPM, TECH, CT

Experienced Quality Assurance Manager and Infrastructure Architect , with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry. Skilled in Outside Plant, Hyper Data Center, BICSI, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), and WiFi. Strong business development professional, and Training Expert.


Todd Morse, Brother Mobile Solutions

Todd has 25+ years in the low voltage industry including owning several design/build datacom contracting companies in Texas, a Datacom Area Manager for a national distributor and the past 9 years with Brother Industrial Solutions as their Western Regional Sales Manager/Consultant and creator/host of the wildly popular web series, ‘BS With Todd’. Labeling is one of his passions and specifically labeling to ANSI/TIA 606C standards focusing on industry specifications, implementations, consulting and custom label creations for contractors, integrators and end-users.


Blake Urmos, Low Voltage Nation

Steve Cowles RCDD, NTS AEM Test & Measurement

Steve is a Manager for Product and Customer Care at AEM test measurement. He is the single point of contact for all technical product related support including customer support, product calibration, product documentation, product troubleshooting and repair. His responsibilities include product management, pre/post-sales support, training/technical support, service/maintenance of TestPro and MMVNA products. Steve is the hose of a biweekly live stream called “Tech Talk with Steve”.
